The species currently accepted on Frythren are as follows. If you would like to suggest a new specie, please PM this account.
- HUMANS
Also referred to as "mortals". I'm fairly certain that we're all clear on what a human being is.
[/li][li]FAERIES[/b]
The inhabitants of Otherworld. They are beautiful, mischievous and easily bored. Think Tolkien's elves, but more lighthearted. While they are not immortal, they have lifespans of about a thousand years and maintain a youthful appearance for the entirety of their lives. They are the most technologically and culturally advanced out of everyone else and they consider themselves superior to all other species.
[/li][li]WEREWOLVES[/b]
A man or woman who transforms into a monster of a wolf during each full moon. Werewolves must be "turned" by being bitten by a werewolf (and surviving the ordeal) before they can transform. They are highly allergic to silver and their allergic reaction to it, if it penetrates their skin, is death. Werewolves rarely maintain control over their actions after they have transformed. They have a lifespan similar to a human.
[/li][li]VAMPIRES[/b]
The "living dead". They must drink the blood of a mammal to survive on a regular basis and as long as they do this, they are immortal. Vampires are pale-skinned, cold, they sleep in coffins or graves and burn in the sunlight (and by burn, I mean they burst into flame or turn to stone or dust). They do not sparkle...unless they put glitter on themselves. Like a werewolf, a vampire must be "turned" by being bitten by a vampire. Vampires cannot be killed except by a wooden stake through the heart.
[/li][li]MERMAID/MERMAN[/b]
They appear human from the waist up and fish from the waist down and must remain in the water. Certain spells may temporarily give a mermaid or merman legs, but they must give up their voices in order to walk on land. No mermaid or merman has ever managed to permanently obtain legs.
[/li][li]BANSHEE[/b]
Banshees may be of either gender and they appear human apart from their elegant feathered wings. They have strong, usually high-pitched voices and powerful psychic abilities, being able to predict births, deaths, important events or even trivial things. Many also have telepathic powers and tend to be artistically inclined.
[/li][li]CENTAUR[/b]
Centaurs appear to be human from the waist up and horse from the waist down. They tend to prefer drunken partying and carrying off fair young damsels (or men). However, they are fearsome fighters hen provoked.
[/li][li]SYLPHS[/b]
Sylphs have two forms. In one form, they look like a slender human, mostly, with sharp, angular faces. Except they have wings on their back that are as long as about twice the person's height.
They can have any color of hair, but they are more often light-colored. Both genders usually keep their hair long to fly in the wind. In sylphs other form, they are more of an etheral being of wind and clouds. They lose their body and become a soul that can have a faint shape in the sky. In either form they can fly, have very good vision, are gifted with the element of air, need barely any food or sleep, and live very long lives. They are however, physically weak, mature slowly, timid, and their species is dying out and they try at all costs to keep their identity secret. Also, if they stay in one form for too long, they can get stuck in that form.
[/li][li]EXPERIMENTAL CREATURES[/b]
These are people who were once human, but are then magically altered to "create" a new species. Seek permission from the administrator before adding a new experimental creature to the list.

[/li][li]MAGIC-USERS[/b]
Witches, warlocks, wizards, magicians, sorceresses and sorcerers are all acceptable names for those who practice magic. These people may be of any race and may possess powers (e.i. telepathy, telekinesis) or not.[/li][/ul]
