Was she implying that Yuliya was better off without him? What the hell was she saying? That somehow he was doing a bad thing by protecting her? “See, no. You know what she's doing right now? She's sitting in a camp surrounded by animals in the forest. Do you know what she'd be doing if I wasn't here? Sitting in a camp in a forest surrounded by animals. She is happy with her life and if you even imply otherwise I will cut your head off so fast Streak won't have time to even change directions.”
A flicker of fear passed through him as he wondered if Yuliya really would be happier without him. She'd simply wander through the woods with her animals beside her and she would harvest edible plants and Apollo would defend her. That's what she did now. The only difference was that when she had him she had someone who could play music to her singing and someone who would bring her her favorite delicacy, cheese, sometimes. He didn't even care about the rest of what she had said, he really really couldn't care less if she hated him or not, but no one would imply that he was doing a bad thing by protecting his sister.

"I just did imply it, smarty pants. All I'm saying, you're so concerned that people will harm your sister because of what you do-but you're the one getting her involved in the first place. Maybe it'd be better off for both of you if you went your separate ways." Ava watched as the road became more clean, more used and she knew the town was just up ahead. She turned around and walked backwards as she said, "Just my two cents, Mr Muscles. As an outside opinion."
Ava was actually curious what I'd be like to have to take care of another person in her life. Avianna believed she'd find it tedious, most likely. Making sure the camps were always the most secure, having to carry around twice the load, never able to have a moment to herself. The whole thing sounded like a nightmare to her. Ava would most likely, she figured, spend the rest of her life alone. For some reason that made her sad. Not that she showed it of coarse.
She turned back around to face the way she was going and saw the first few buildings of the Village of Urr. She tilted her face so she could see the warrior, "You gonna leave me here or are you going to walk me all the way to the inn?" she asked dryly.

“Uh huh, believe it or not. She likes being around me, we enjoy each other's company. I know it's a hard concept for you to wrap your head around since no one in their right mind would enjoy your company, but I guess that just makes us better,” he said smugly. No one would tell him his sister didn't like him, it was just a ridiculous concept. From when she was very young he had acted not only as her older brother but as her mother and her father, seeing as their mother was dead or gone or something and their father had refused to act in the slightest bit like a father to her .
And he knew he did his job well, she was happier than she had been in years. She was screaming in her sleep less and having less episodes during the day. She was less secretive and sullen and had begun to sing again. If she'd stayed with the tribe...none of that would have happened, and if she'd been alone, she would've gone deeper into the woods. How dare this girl pry into their lives. Someone who had been alone their whole life had no right in judging people who wanted a little company, a person to sit around the fire with. “You kidding? I don't want to be around you anymore than I have to be. Don't want to see your ugly face or hear your stupid words,” he said with a scoff as he turned back.

"Oh, and I'm so sure you are the person to be judging what someone is in their right mind would want or do. Considering you just threatened to behead me and all." she said with sarcasm just ringing in her tone.
Ava watched him leave, smiling at her own amusement. Finally he left. For the first time since she met him, he willing let her go- and she didn't mind at all. Not one bit. Though she was still pondering the last bits of their conversation as well as the thoughts it brought on her.
Was she truly going to live the remainder of her life alone and on the road? Ava had never really thought about her life as something to be planned out, or expected of anything. Not since she had learned the harsh truth about life and how when things got good, bad always snatched it away like a snake striking it's prey. Perhaps that was why Ava pushed good things from her life? Why she never tried looking for friends or even held onto money for the future? No. That was impossible, inconceivable. She had no idea what she was thinking, she was tired. That was it, she was just tired. Ava pushed aside her damned thoughts and headed for the inn, thinking of, instead, her next hunting trip which would take place the next morning. If she avoided the well, hopefully she'd be able to stay away from Mr. and Mrs. Muscles.
