Ava grunted as she carried the fawn over her shoulders. She had been tracking a deer through the forest for days and it turned out to be a lone fawn, it looked like it'd mother was long gone, as it was rather skinny and wailing loudly. It wasn't difficult to kill, but it was difficult to drag it to the closest civilization, Port Grimm. She finally reached the local butchery and was able to carry it in the small, stone building. She dropped it on the counter and greeted the owner. After about ten minutes of haggling they agreed to the price worthy of the large, clean catch. "I keep the coin in the back, one moment please." and then Ava was alone.
Ava gave a long stretch and leaned on the counter. It had been a very long day. She was dressed in her leather armour with a sword on her side, a dagger at her ankle, a bow and quiver on her back and a satchel weighing her down. She'd have to stay at the inn, there was no way she'd get far out enough to get a safe campsite at this point, not with the amount of energy she had left. She gave a yawn and began to stretch a little.

Marian was standing in the back of the store, cutting up some goat meat while she heard her master talking about something. She snuck a peek and saw him walk to the back, while a girl around her age stood in the store. She whipped her hands on her apron, whipping the blood off as she walked from the back, looking at the girl with her best saleswoman smile. The owner wanted her to work more in the front of the store. She just wanted to hunt but she could do nothing more then agree.
"Is there something i can help you with Mam'?" she asked as she smiled at her. She pushed back her brown hair, which was in its normal braid back off her shoulder as she looked over the girl. She noticed the bow on her back first and that struck her eye the most. "You a hunter?" she asked with a bit more real joy in her voice. Another hunter?

Avianna gave a little nod and replied, "Yeah, I'm a Hunter, and I don't need any help-you're boss is just getting something in the back ." she paused for a moment, studying the girl for a moment. She looked about her age, but a little older maybe. Ava almost never revealed her own age, since she was rather young and many people could see that as a weakness. Ava had always had to act older than her real age and most people couldn't even tell the difference. She liked that about herself very much.
"Do you hunt? she asked, making idle conversation wasn't really her best talent but every once and a while she tried it out. It wasn't that she simply hated other people, it's that life was cruel; therefore people were cruel, therefore you always had to be on guard and alert for yourself. That was the way Ava's life went, but the girl seemed nice enough-nothing to be too cautious of. But it never really did any wrong to be too cautious in life, right?

Marian just nodded, surprisingly happy. Another hunter? The only other hunter she knew was...she stopped herself before she ruined her good mood. "Ya, I have been since i could remember. Thats why i work here. He supply all i need, I give him meat to sell." She said simply as she looked over her bow. She also had a hidden love for bow making but she couldn't do it herself. "Its a excellent bow." she said she gawked over the wooden weapon.
It wasn't as good as hers though, She smiled as she remembered her pure willow tree and reinforced with steel and small amounts of gold. It was her most prized item. "How long have you hunted?" she asked, the girl interesting her now, which was rare.

Avianna was rather surprised when the girl praised her bow. It was an upgrade from her first bow, which was made from a tree she hadn't known the name of and a simple string. Where she came from bows were hard to find, so the basic materials of everyday life was all she had. Not to say her current bow was gorgeous, but it was sturdy and practical for her hunting techniques and smooth on the hand and easy to aim. "Thank you, it's a fine bow, at least for me. I've heard a saying, 'There's a sword for every warrior, and a bow for every hunter.' Of coarse, that may have just been the vendor talking when I was considering buying the bow initially.
Then she asked about how long she had been hunting. Her alert, defensive part of the brain warned her to be careful of the information she gave, but the small, tiny, almost friendly part of her told her this girl was just interested in hunting-not Ava specifially and she responded eagarly, "Oh, since I was ten. I never really had hunting roots so I had to learn from others, fellow hunters, trial and error, you know." she shrugged a little with a modest smile. "Practice makes perfect."

Marian smiled and slightly nodded "Oh thats cool. I've been at it for a long time...but i had a mentor." she said, not going on about it thought. She didn't like talking about him with anyone who didn't know him. People didn't deserve to know about him. He was the best person in this world and it was unfair he was taken like he was.
Her mood was masked by a smile again as she noticed her mentor coming back in with a bag of coins. She held her hand out and he left back to the back to prepare the meat the other girl had brought in. It was kinda nice to know someone else was bringing him meat. Hers have been scattered lately. She turned back to her and held the bag out to her "Here you go miss. Oh I'm Marian by the way."

Ava nodded, double checked to make sure she had everything, and opened the door for the two of them. The day was in it's prime, the sun was in the highest of the sky and insects were buzzing in the trees around them.
She walked down past a few other shops for a while, facing Marian. "So, do you have any place 'round here in particular you like to practice at? I'm not from here and besides the main roads, I could practically be a mortal in the Otherworld. she said with a smile.
As she walked, Ava wonder what they'd do. When she met with Hunters before, they usually were much older and had a helluva lot more experience than her. This time, she had no idea what experience she had, so they'd have to wing it. Ava was good a winging it. "So, when you're hunting, what sort of approach do you take. They say it's different for every hunter, you see." she asked, not trying to sound pushy or interrogative, but casually. She just wanted to know where to begin with her showing off, er, their collaboration.

This ava girl seemed nice enough. She smiled a little and looked back at the back room, then back at the girl. "Sounds like fun" The idea of showing the girl her moves was a little downing, but she could use some new skills. Not that they were anything compared to Tye's, He still had the best. Tye did everything the best, He would always say don't try for good, try for the best so even if you don't reach it, it will still be good.
"Sounds like a plan. It will be good to get a look and ideas from another hunter" She said as she looked around to the back then back to her "Give me a few minutes to tell Master man and grab my bow" She turned and went in the back for a moment. She came out in her normal hunting clothes, dark green pants, amour plats and a simple white shirt with her riding boots. Her bow was slung over her back along with her quiver. "So Shall we go?"

Marian just nodded as they walked along, leading her to the path to the forest she took everyday. Her and Tye made it years ago and she never changed her pathway. "We will go to one i don't use a lot." she lied as they walked along.
"And I Am more of a sneaky person." She said simply as they made it to the forest line. "What about you? How do you hunt?" she asked, her voice becoming more quiet as the started to move into the woods, starting to pull her bow out, lodging a arrow in it.

Ava nodded and followed her through the forest, trusting her to know where to go-but making sure to note where she had gone. Ava had a habit of looking for escape routes and trying to plan ahead when the need for it came. She had found that it had become quite useful to her throughout her travels.
"Well, considering hunting is pretty much all I do, I like to mix it up-approach every day with a new angle. I prefer to do either tracking, or on nice days, leaving bait down and waiting can be fun." she explained casually. "Like, leaving some nuts and fruit or raw meat below a tree and waiting with a bow and arrow primed. It can get boring, but it leaves you to ponder life's challenges. It's also the least dangerous way, if you can stay in the tree." she said with a laugh.
Ava wasn't an aggressive hunter, she was pretty patient and calm-sometimes travelling for days just to catch large prey, such as the fawn she had just sold. Hunting wasn't just a job to her, it was also a sport. Living was Avianna's main goal, everything else was just to pass the time away.

Marian just nodded as she kept walking to the part of the woods that her and Tye would go to. It seemed almost to quiet here always. It put her on her toes, nothing got by her out here, her sixth sense was on and working. Tye was the only one other than her who knew this place, why should she show her this? She could always drag her a few feet away to that killer bee nest. No she had done nothing wrong to her plus she liked having another hunter to talk to. Most people just saw her as another kid.
"I'm not patient." She said simply in response to her style. She hunted to make what she could and keep herself alive and well. Being in the forest was the part that was fun. Being alone and taking that risk of being out there. It was thrilling and she loved it. Besides just waiting for a animal? That would only work some times not all the time. "But if it works for you." she said as they made it to the clearing. It wasn't big but a creek ran right through the middle which made it a big time spot for animals. All the hunters stayed by the closest river, but this creek was just as popular and relatively unknown. She just walked over to a tree close to the middle and hit the trunk like Tye use to, a wooden ladder falling from the branches. She grabbed the first bar and hoisted herself up till she reached the opening between two large branches. The size fit her bow perfectly. She looked down at the girl and smile "Come on up"

Ava shrugged, it did get boring. But she hadn't much else to do in the forest. She had twelve hours of daylight, and nothing else to fill it with other than sleeping, hunting and travelling. Someone like her, who had a job though, probably didn't have time as a luxury.
Ava was a little confused when Marian got the ladder. Where were they? She almost felt a little... uneasy. This felt like a place that was secretive-as if she shouldn't be here. She got the feeling not too many people knew about this place, and she wasn't exactly comfortable entering somewhere so mysterious. She invited her up and she bit the side of the inside of her lip, "You sure?" she asked, but didn't let it get to her enough to show her uneasiness. She nodded and climbed up the ladder behind Marian. "Where are we going?" she asked curiously, trying to see into the hole-but Marian was sorta blocking her line of sight.
