"Not my problem." The banshee growled, losing his patience as he flapped his wings, carrying him up and away. The guy really had to have the IQ of a rock, and he had to ignorant too. Had he never heard of Cernunnos kind? They weren't exactly rare and unless they were born without the abilities that were their birthrights, he would know that they were able to...see things before they happened, meet people before they meet them? Surely he had come across another banshee before?
Cernunnos was dearly tempted to shoot him down, as his unusually generous mood was ruined. All he had done was help a fellow survivor find a few extra calories and all he'd gotten in return was an overcompensation sword thrust into his face. In fact, the only reason Cernunnos didn't fly onto the roof and knock an arrow to his bow and bury it in Fabio's shoulder was because he was under the impression that the girl, his sister, depending on him. Well, if intelligence was genetic in their family, he didn't want to think what kind of vegetative state someone even less well-intellectually endowed than the stranger was.
The stranger walked away and Cernunnos flapped back onto the roof, his bright, sunny mood replaced with the urge to kick small children.

In the end, Amri decided that as long as Yuliya was safe and okay, that his leaving had been worth it. They had enough food to last for a couple of days and they could relax for awhile. It would be nice to just sit around and groom their horses and tell each other stories and maybe sing a few old songs, and that wasn't even mentioning the look of glee that would be on her face when she saw all the food, especially the cheese. That would be enough to get him through a week, and by then he would've come up with another reason to make her smile.
He saw their camp from a little ways away just on the edge of the forest: a little hut that was really a big cloth draped over some sticks, two horses wandering around and munching on the grass, two dogs lying down with their tongues lolling as they took a break from a rabbit they'd killed for themselves, and most importantly, his sister sitting on a log on the edge of the fire, daintily giving tidbits of the rabbit to a peregrine falcon sitting on her shoulder. Streak never sat on his shoulder. In fact, none of the animals ever did anything for him the way they carried out precise actions for Yuliya. It was strange, but oh well, it was just her ways.
“So everyone but me is allowed to eat meat?” he teased he threw his satchel at her, “doesn't matter, look what I got us.”

Yuliya had never eaten meat, always refusing to eat the flesh of animals, and as such, her brother had to share in this eating style. But she knew that the dogs and her falcon had to eat meat, and so she met the sight of Apollo and Luna strolling into camp with a dead rabbit with no disgust, She let them feed themselves first and then she picked off the rest of the meat and set about feeding it to Streak. Really he should've been getting it himself but he had gotten used to being fed by hand and Yuliya didn't mind it, it was bonding time between the two of them. He had known her for as long as he had been alive.
“He is back,” she heard in her mind in the growling voice of Apollo. She looked up with a smile on her face to see her brother returning from wherever he had gone and he tossed a bag at her. Confused, she looked within it to see bread and potatoes...and cheese! Cheese was her favorite food in the whole world, it tasted better than anything else. An even bigger smile came on her face as she looked up at her brother and stood up to wrap her arms around him. “Thank you, Indigo,” she said as Streak flew off of her to land on the log indignantly. She would get back to feeding him later.

His business in the forest was none of yours, but Cernunnos had had about enough of it. Contrary to popular belief, it was much harder to navigate through a tree-infested area when you possessed giant, feather wings with over a six-foot wing span. Unless the tree in question was exception, wings actually made it a lot more difficult to climb trees than to not and Cernunnos didn't like getting his feathers ruffled...literally, in this case.
Letting out a loud grunt of frustration, he shook his wings into place once more, reaching out with his forefinger and thumb to smooth some feathers that had fallen out of place before pulling his wings back into place and moving to the next tree, craning his neck to examine the scratches in the bark. No, no signs of that certain barbarian tribe that had tried to cut off his beautiful wings. Letting out a sigh of relief, he turned to go, but he noticed a familiar, dark-haired man and he slipped behind an enormous tree trunk, not wanting to make contact with him unless absolutely necessary. That, and Cernunnos wanted to know what the stranger was up to; make sure something way too weird wasn't going on between him and his sister and to understand why he was such a bag of dicks.

It was a huge relief for him to see her here unharmed. Obviously nothing had happened or she wouldn't be so peaceful, he knew by now that she was only this peaceful when only animals had been near her, well, and him. Any time they had come across another person she would stop talking or threaten them or go out into the forest for hours or leave with her horse or start yelling and screaming. It was almost like other people were a poison to her, and this was why life was much better without the tribe, because now she rarely had to go through that.
He grinned and put her back down on the log while sitting beside her and ripping off a part of the bread to munch on. This would be a perfect moment if he didn't have the lingering worry that that stupid pigeon was going to hurt her. He still didn't know how he knew about Streak or any of that stuff. He looked at the bird questioningly but knew he couldn't suspect the bird; animals didn't talk, and if they did, they would be on Yuliya's side. Especially Streak, the bird slept cuddled up to her. Nonetheless, he sighed as he leaned back, “We'regoing to have to move camp, I don't think it's safe here anymore. Take a bite to eat and we'll start.”

He was worried, she could feel it. Yuliya was not good at all when it came to figuring out how other people felt, but her brother was the exception. Not only did she just know him well, but he was also rather bad at hiding his emotions. If he was worried, it meant something bad had happened, or was happening, or was going to happen and she couldn't help but tense up. But he had brought food, right? What was bad about that? She absentmindedly stroked the head of Streak and her anxiety pulsated enough through her that the dogs noticed and came over to quietly nudge her knees with their noses in comfort.
He said they had to move camp...but why? It wasn't safe? They were always safe. It had been years since she had been kidnapped and they were excellent fighters. They had only just moved to this place in the morning and she didn't want to leave. She reached into the bad to grab some cheese to nibble on and to hide her furrowed brows of worry and confusion. Black Jewel and Wind Star were tired, so were the dogs, they all needed a night of rest. And they had food. It was rare for them to have a night where they were able to sleep comfortably with food in their bellies. “Indigo I do not want to go,” she said as she looked out into the forest. Traveling often meant riding on roads and she didn't like roads, they were too open and she felt vulnerable. She liked forests...they were safe, but as she gazed into the trees...she saw a man slip behind a tree. Fear spread through her as she quickly turned to her brother. "Indigo...there's a man in the trees..."

The bag of dicks and his sister appeared to be moving camp and Cernunnos decided that that in itself was completely uninteresting. He watched them for a minute more and deciding that they were just two ordinary bags of dicks whom he was fairly certain would never bother him again, moved away from his tree, towards the open skies, where he could fly away without worrying about colliding which the branches and then continue to go live his life.
Of course, it wasn't going to be that simple, as he heard the blonde girl, Yuliya, the sister, tell Fabio, whose name was apparently Indigo, (not that Cernunnos gave a damn) that: "there's a man in the trees".
Instantly, Cernunnos froze. Brilliant. Now Fabio would come swashbuckling over and try to kill him and otherwise do things that would assert himself as the biggest bag full of the most dicks in all the kingdom, and that would definitely ruin the banshee's day. Cursing colorfully in his head, Cernunnos ran through his options. He could climb a tree, (no...his wings would get tangled up in the branches) he could fly away (probably his best option, although not without risk of getting caught in the foliage on his way up) or he could try talking peacefully with them (a horrible idea -- he had done a rare deed of helping Fabio out earlier, only to have his kindness thrown back in his face).
...Or he could run.
That was an excellent idea. Cernunnos was incredibly fast, even without the use of his wings. Few could outrun him, mostly on account of his lightweight and long legs. And so, he decided on running and without delay, he sped off in the direction of the plains.

He knew his sister didn't like moving around as much as they did, she liked having more dependability in their life, but now was not the time to be growing attached to the place they were. If they were to get attached to anywhere, he would prefer being deep in the woods. But he'd have to convince Yuliya it would be a good idea to leave, which would be hard considering how stubborn she could be. Lots of people seemed to think that she followed him blindly, but it seemed like most of the time she was the one making the decisions.
But when he heard her say there was a man near by and he heard the man take take off running, Amri sprung into action. This was what he was good at. He was good at protecting them. “Willow! Grab your weapons and chase him on Jewel!” he yelled as he swung up onto his chocolate palomino horse, Windstar. Windstar was not nearly as fast as Black Jewel but he'd be able to keep the man in sight until Yuliya took her extra couple of seconds to mount. He nudged the horse and went after him, noticing that it was indeed the stupid pigeon boy. He'd been to be worried about him coming back.

She nodded at her brother's words, though she was secretly glad the man he decided to run. It meant that she got to help, since she was faster both on foot and on horseback then her brother. Her sword was already strapped to her side so she swung a quiver around one shoulder and her bow around the other before she leaped onto Black Jewel and took off after her brother. Th black mare relished the opportunity for a good gallop and gleefully stretched out her legs to their full capacity, but Yuliya had a few other tricks up her sleeve.
“Luna, you stay at camp,” she said, and she was about to tell something to Apollo and Streak, but they were already beside her, Apollo running at her side and Streak taking the cue and flying even faster. Even Black Jewel was not as fast as the peregrine falcon. Yuliya quickly overtook her brother and got a good look at the man, but couldn't see anything special. That didn't mean he didn't have to be dealt with. She took an arrow from her quiver and fitted it in her bow for when she caught up, which would be soon. When she looked, she saw it would only be a few more moments before Streak caught up and then the bird would grab onto him with his talons and slow him down until the others caught up.
